Potrzeba ustawienia fotoradarów, w celu zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa na  drogach w mieście jest faktem bezspornym. Mało który kierowca przestrzega ustalonej prędkości w terenie zabudowanym. Stąd też inicjatywa Burmistrza Miasta i Straży Miejskiej zainteresowania problemem Radnych.

W  piątek 26 czerwca Burmistrz Miasta Janusz Romaniuk, z-ca Burmistrza Rafał Gil,  Jarosław Żochowski Komendant Straży Miejskiej wraz ze Strażnikami oraz członkowie Komisji Rolnictwa, Ochrony Środowiska, Prawa i Porządku w Mieście  spotkali się na badaniu prędkość przejeżdżających samochodów na ulicach Wolności i Krasickiego. Badanie to odbywało się  za pomocą fotoradarów wypożyczonych bezpłatnie przez częstochowską firmę, zajmującą się dystrybucją tych  urządzeń.  Na obu, w sumie bardzo ruchliwych ulicach zanotowano ok. 60 zdarzeń przekraczania prędkości. Rekordzista, jadący Al. Wolności, w okolicy szpitala, miał na liczniku 106 km.

Wnioski z Komisji  wraz materiałami opracowanymi przez Straż Miejską trafia na najbliższą sesję.
